About this site

Doomsday Counter is an independent editorial ledger of dated end-of-the-world claims, AI forecasts, technical deadlines and far-future models. Each entry records who made the claim, what they actually said, when, how precise it is and what happened next — with sources and a visible correction history.

Who publishes this site

Doomsday Counter is edited and published by Lemmo Murro, a sole proprietor (FIE) registered in Estonia as Lemmo Murro Digitaalne Reklaam, Estonian Business Register code 16735198.

The publisher is responsible for the content of the ledger, its classifications and its corrections.

How entries are made

Entries are built from primary sources wherever possible: the original essay, interview, paper, agency statement or archived page. Claims are classified by type — prophecy, scientific model, capability forecast, technical deadline and so on — because a passed date means different things for each. The full counting rules are on the method & corrections page, and every substantive change is listed in What changed?

Independence

The site currently carries no advertising, sponsored content or affiliate links. No entry is paid for, and no one quoted in the ledger has reviewed or approved how they are described.

Corrections and contact

Found an error, a better source or a claim we are missing? Write to doomsday@doomsdaycounter.com. Please include the original wording, the author, the date and a link to the source or an archived copy. Suggestions are reviewed before anything changes; sending one does not publish it automatically.
