UAP Files & Hearings: The Public Record in 2026
A file becoming public is a real event. What the file establishes depends on who created it, what it records and whether its supporting material is available. Here are useful doors into the record.

Follow the evidence, one link at a time
- 01 · DEFINEWhat is the claim?Record the exact statement, speaker and date. Separate an observation from its proposed explanation.
- 02 · TRACEWhere is the original?Find the document, recording or dataset. Check what it actually records and what is missing.
- 03 · TESTWhat checks it?Look for independent observations, alternative explanations and tests that could change the conclusion.
Three hearings, different kinds of evidence
26 July 2023
Pilots, safety and a recovery-program allegation
The hearing brought together David Fravor, Ryan Graves and David Grusch. Flight observation, safety reporting and alleged concealed programs entered the same discussion through different sources. The official transcript preserves the questions and oral answers; the written statements are separate documents.

Claims, communications and scientific proposals
Tim Gallaudet, Luis Elizondo, Michael Gold and Michael Shellenberger appeared. Gold’s research recommendations, Gallaudet’s email account and Shellenberger’s submitted document package do not all make the same evidentiary claim. A government-hosted witness submission remains that witness’s submission.

Encounter accounts and witness protection
The official roster lists Jeffrey Nuccetelli, Alexandro Wiggins, George Knapp, Dylan Borland and Joe Spielberger. It includes witnesses, a journalist and a policy specialist. The material gives readers named accounts and requests for change, rather than a single collective finding about alien origin.
2026: what changed in the report?
Senator Kirsten Gillibrand’s 21 July 2026 statement summarizes AARO’s FY2025 report. The report’s observation-reporting window is 2 June 2024–30 May 2025. The year in the report’s title is therefore different from its public release year. Read the dated statement.
319 reports received during that window.
114 explained; 205 unresolved in that received-report group.
256 older cases resolved separately. Those resolutions must not be subtracted from the 319 new reports.
“Unresolved” is a report status. It is not a count of confirmed alien craft. Missing observations and measurements can limit what an analyst can conclude. The figures above are attributed to the senator’s summary; this page has not independently audited the underlying case database.

United States: NARA’s Record Group 615
The National Archives organizes UAP holdings by the agency that created them. Its guide includes series from aviation, intelligence, defense and other agencies. The bulk-download inventory links metadata as well as files. A useful first step is to read the item description and date, then inspect the particular record.

United Kingdom, Brazil and Norway
The UK briefing guide gives original Ministry of Defence file references. Brazil’s archival introduction points toward Portuguese reports. Project Hessdalen offers instrument and observation routes. These sources serve different purposes: an archive preserves records; a field project gathers observations. Neither label alone decides a case.

The 2026 release trail
The research dossier identifies the PURSUE portal and a sixth-release notice dated 18 September 2026. Direct retrieval of the official portal and notice was unavailable in this check. We therefore link the acquisition routes without claiming a complete inventory of all releases or reproducing an unchecked file count.
Official portal · Dated sixth-release notice
A complete item-level release ledger would need each original file’s creator, observation date, document date, release date and relation to earlier copies. Until those items have been inspected, a fresh upload should not be described as a fresh observation or newly established technology.
A quick check before sharing a “new file”
Who wrote it?
A witness statement, an agency assessment and an internal speculative research proposal are different documents. Preserve the original creator as well as the website hosting the copy.
Which date is new?
A 2026 release may contain a 1980 report about a 1976 observation. Record all three dates. A newly public document can matter without describing a newly observed event.
Does it provide the material it describes?
A statement that a photograph, radar track or recovered object exists is a lead to that material. It is not a substitute for the original, its provenance and an independent examination.
Source review: 16 October 2026. This is a curated records guide. Specific blocked documents are identified; no claim is made that every linked PDF or release item has been read in full.
